Summary

The Senior Marketing Manager will own Nova's brand, positioning, and content - the story we tell and the materials we use to tell it. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a demand gen seat. You'll define and refine how Nova communicates its value to the world, build the sales enablement toolkit our go-to-market team relies on, and develop the case studies and thought leadership that establish Nova as the category leader in programmatic creative automation.

You'll report directly to the COO, work closely with the CEO, and manage one junior marketer. The ideal candidate knows the adtech and programmatic landscape well enough to walk in on day one, understand the business immediately, and start sharpening how we explain it to everyone else.

Key Responsibilities

Brand & Positioning:

  • Own Nova's positioning and messaging framework, keeping the company narrative sharp and consistent across every customer-facing touchpoint
  • Translate complex technical capability into clear, compelling stories that resonate with agency buyers, brand marketers, and platform partners
  • Partner with the CEO on executive communications, conference presentations, and high-visibility brand moments

Sales Enablement & Content:

  • Build and maintain the core sales toolkit - pitch decks, one-pagers, capability overviews, and vertical-specific materials
  • Develop case studies and customer success stories that demonstrate platform impact with real campaign results
  • Support major pitches, RFPs, and strategic account pursuits with sharp, tailored content in partnership with the sales and partnerships teams

Thought Leadership:

  • Lead Nova's content and thought leadership strategy, building credibility in the programmatic and creative automation space
  • Develop and manage an editorial calendar across blog, LinkedIn, and industry publications
  • Stay current on adtech trends, competitive positioning, and the evolving programmatic landscape to ensure Nova's story is always relevant

Product Marketing:

  • Support new channel and capability launches by translating features into clear customer benefits and developing go-to-market messaging
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Nova's product roadmap and ensure marketing materials reflect current capabilities accurately

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and develop one junior marketer, setting clear priorities and raising the quality bar on everything the team produces
  • Build scalable processes for content production and asset management as the marketing function grows

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: 5-10 years of B2B marketing experience, with meaningful time in adtech, programmatic media, martech, or digital advertising
  • Adtech Fluency: Genuine fluency in the programmatic ecosystem - you know what DSPs, SSPs, CTV, and DOOH are without a glossary, and you understand how agencies and brands buy media
  • Proven Work: A strong portfolio of positioning, sales enablement, and content work; you can show us decks, case studies, or campaigns you built and explain the thinking behind them
  • Location: Remote position; ideal candidate located in or around the Greater Toronto Area or Waterloo region
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional writing and storytelling ability; you can turn complex technical capability into a narrative that moves people
  • Builder Mentality: A builder's mindset - comfortable owning the function end-to-end in a lean environment, moving fast, and doing the work yourself when needed
  • Team Leadership: Experience managing or mentoring junior marketing talent
  • Organized & Collaborative: Highly organized and collaborative, managing multiple projects effectively while working cross-functionally with sales, product, and executive teams
